The Society
The ASNP, APS affiliate # 60, was founded by Paul van Reyen in 1975 as the successor of
the Netherlands and Colonial Philately (NCP) which had been the home of Netherlands
collectors for many years. It is an American organization with a world- wide membership of
philatelists interested in all aspects of Netherlands philately.
This includes, besides the Netherlands proper, the Netherlands Overseas Territories,
formerly known as colonies, and even such early ones as New Amsterdam (New York today),
the Cape of Good Hope, and Dutch commercial establishments all over the world.
No aspect of philately is ignored; it includes stamps, postal history, postal markings,
entries, revenue stamps and so on. The ASNP has no fixed domicile and as such, its officers
are scattered world- wide.
The link between the members is our illustrated Magazine which appears every two months.
The Magazine has orginal articles written by ASNP members, as well as translations of
interesting material that has appeared in other publications, as well as new issues.
